Jim Kee
A Proven Leader for Greensboro’s Future
Jim Kee is a businessman, a builder, and a believer in Greensboro’s potential.
From the council chambers to the construction site, Jim has spent his life turning bold ideas into real results, especially for the neighborhoods that too often get overlooked. As President and CEO of Kee Development Corp., Jim is leading a 144-unit housing development for seniors and veterans, alongside an urban farm powered entirely by solar energy. It’s not just smart growth; it’s growth that gives back.
Jim previously represented District 2 on Greensboro’s City Council, where he helped shape policy for a $420 million city budget. He’s known for tackling tough problems head-on, like bringing life back to a long-abandoned shopping center in his district and securing $15 million in infrastructure improvements where they were needed most. Under his leadership, forgotten projects got finished and struggling areas got a fresh start.
Over the years, Jim has brought more than half a billion dollars in investment opportunities into Greensboro—projects that support local jobs, grow our tax base, and expand opportunity across the city.
Jim’s work ethic took root early in life, growing up on a family farm where he learned the value of hands-on work, helping others, and doing what’s right even when it’s hard. Whether managing multi-million dollar territories in the private sector or rolling up his sleeves to revitalize neighborhoods, Jim brings the same dedication to every challenge.
He’s not in this for headlines. He’s in it to make a difference for seniors, veterans, working families, and everyone who calls Greensboro home.
Jim Kee is running for City Council in District 2 because he believes in real progress—not just promises. And because he knows what it takes to deliver.
